This means that when your patients need referred to a specialist or to the hospital, you have the independence to choose the best specialists without being limited to a specific hospital group.

With Population Health as our core foundation, we can focus on value-based care, rather than volume-based care. This increases our patient’s health and wellness by avoiding unnecessary and costly trips to the hospital.

The Benefits of becoming a Central Ohio Primary Care Provider

Retirement

  • 401(k) Plan helps you save money for retirement. Contribute 1% - 100% of your pay in the form of Pre-Tax or Roth contributions. COPC matches your contributions dollar for dollar up to the first 6% of eligible earnings.
  • Profit Sharing contributions are annual discretionary bonuses deposited into your retirement account (if eligible).

Employees must work 1,000+ hours in the prior calendar year to be eligible to receive the annual contribution once eligible for the profit-sharing plan.

Health Benefits

  • Health Care Coverage – Choose from medical, dental and vision coverage for you and your family.
  • Cancer Support Benefits – COPC offers two benefits:
    • CancerBridge is a cancer information line and support services that also provides monthly virtual health seminars through The James Cancer Hospital at Ohio State University. This benefit is fully paid by COPC.
    • Genomic Life is focused on risk screening and advanced genomic profiling (DNA testing) to arm you with resources that can improve prevention and survival of a cancer diagnosis. This is a voluntary benefit in which you can enroll.
  • Other Benefits

    • COPC Same Day Centers offer employees access to care for urgent needs at a reduced cost.

Time Away

  • Paid Time Off
    • Accrue up to 15 days of paid time off (PTO) in your first year; and up to 17 days after your first anniversary date.
  • Holiday Pay
    • 7 paid company holidays plus 2 floating holidays.
  • Other Time Away
    • Bereavement Leave and Jury Duty Leave.
  • Paid Parental Leave
    • Two weeks for birth or adoption and one week for foster care placement compensated at 60%.

Financial

  • Flexible Spending Accounts use pre-tax dollars for eligible health and dependent care expenses.
  • Health Savings Account (HSA) in addition to your contributions, COPC contributes to your HSA ($1,000 for single coverage and $1,500 for family coverages).
  • Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance
    • Employer-paid provided at 1x base salary up to $100,000
    • Voluntary coverage for employee, spouse and/or child(ren)
  • Disability Benefits (Employer Paid)
    • Short-Term Disability – 60% of base salary up to $1,250/week
    • Long-Term Disability – 60% of base salary up to $5,000/month

  • Educational Discounts through local colleges and universities for employees and family members.

As the nation's largest independent primary care physician organization, we are leading the industry with a system that supports the entire care of each COPC patient.

Today we have more than 85 practices within the organization, located throughout Columbus and Central Ohio. However, what’s most notable isn’t our size, but that we have grown beyond the primary care office and we are still growing.

COPC has a combined total of more than 500 internal medicine physicians, family medicine physicians, pediatricians, and specialists and we have 425 shareholders. We also have a hospitalist team with more than 80 docs and 15 Advanced Practice Providers at hospitals across the region.
