Are Holiday Gatherings Safe for You?

Are you unsure about whether or not you should host or attend in-person holiday gatherings? If you can say "yes" to any of the following, you should not attend or host any in-person celebrations. *Here are some guidelines to help you find out who should NOT host or attend in-person events.


Can you say "yes" to any of the following?

  • Are you or anyone in your household under orders to quarantine due to a COVID-19 diagnosis?
  • Do you or anyone in your household have active symptoms of COVID-19?
    • Fever/chills
    • Cough
    • Shortness of breath/difficulty breathing
    • Fatigue
    • Muscle/body aches
    • Headache
    • New loss of taste/smell
    • Sore throat
    • Congestion/runny nose
    • Nausea/vomiting
    • Diarrhea
  • Are you or anyone in your household waiting on COVID-19 test results?
  • Have you or anyone in your household been exposed to someone with COVID-19 within the last 14 days?
  • Do you or anyone in your household have an increased risk of severe illness (i.e. a senior or immune-compromised)?


Key takeaways

When in doubt, avoid in-person gatherings with anyone outside of your household. In addition, as the size of a proposed gathering increases, so does the risk.
