COPC Blood Drive Makes a Difference

5/6/2020

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, COPC has responded in amazing ways to help keep our patients and employees safe and healthy. Every member of our organization has contributed, in ways large and small, to fulfill COPC’s mission to be The Best for Primary Care. On Saturday, May 2 we partnered with the American Red Cross to hold a blood drive. This was a great way to pay it forward and help people in our community and across the country.

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused unprecedented challenges to the U.S. blood supply. Donor centers have experienced a dramatic reduction in donations due to the implementation of social distancing and the cancellation of blood drives. With a total of 49 donors (39% were first-time donors) and 40 units of blood collected, we were able to make a difference and potentially help 120 lives!
