About Us
Our Story
Central Ohio Primary Care was founded in 1996 when a group of 33 physicians joined together to
give greater focus to patient care than the administrative duties that were weighing them down.
From the onset, COPC physicians have always been dedicated to finding new ways to offer the best
patient care.
Rooted in a long history of clinical excellence and a commitment to the highest ethical standards,
we are building a model for primary care that creates a more holistic view of patient care and gives
physicians more time to focus on building relationships with patients and each other.
Today we have more than 75 practices and serve more than 450,000 patients. We have a hospitalist team
with physicians at hospitals across the region, we’re opening more SameDay Centers, and are expanding
our ancillary services.
Our Goal
Our success combines a reputation for clinical excellence, a commitment to mindful service, and a willingness to challenge some of the long-held standards of care. It is our goal:
- to provide the highest quality preventative and chronic care,
- to keep our patients out of the hospital whenever possible,
- to collaborate with local health systems, while remaining uniquely independent,
- to refer our patients to the best specialists in the region regardless of affiliation, and
- to demonstrate that our patients can receive the best care at a more competitive price.
Our Areas of Focus
- Clinical Excellence
- Mindful Service
- Modernization of Primary Care
Our Promise
No matter the health situation, we will take responsibility for the entirety of our patients’ care, meaning a member of COPC’s care team will always be advocating for the best outcome. The result is better preventative care, greater access to routine and specialty care resources, shorter hospital stays and more cost-effective, high-quality care.
