About Amico, Stock and Associates

Welcome to Amico, Stock and Associates

Our practice has proudly served the Central Ohio community for over 50 years. The foundation of our heritage stems from our success in putting our patients at the center of their health care and supporting them with treatment plans and education, in order to help improve their overall health. Our physicians strive to help each of their patients maintain healthy lives by specializing in preventative medicine and disease management.

Prescriptions Policies and Information

Prescriptions and refills should be handled at scheduled office visits. The length of the prescription should be sufficient until the patient's next recommended appointment. If you require a refill which is not requested at an office visit, there may be a fee.

If your prescription insurance plan requires a prior authorization for medication, you may be charged a fee for the office to obtain this prior authorization. While our staff and physicians do their best to help patients obtain their maximum prescription benefits, insurance plans, including drug coverage plans, are a contract between the patient and the patient's insurance company.

If you need to change pharmacies or change your prescription to mail order, the law in the State of Ohio permits non-expired prescriptions to be transferred to the new pharmacy without charge or interruption. In the case of most mail order pharmacies, they disregard this provision and require prescriptions to be re-written. In the event that this is preferred by the patient BEFORE their next routine visit, the patient has a couple of choices:

  1. Make an appointment to see the doctor for repeat refills
  2. Wait for their next regular visit to change pharmacies
  3. Pay a fee for the patient's physician to review their medical records and re-write the prescription - which will then need to be picked up at the office.  Lost prescriptions for controlled medications (such as pain medications, sleeping aides, etc.) will not be replaced.

Our policy is to not call in prescriptions since it does not allow the provider to re-evaluate the appropriateness of the prescription and follow the condition for which the medication was prescribed. We do not accept faxes or calls from pharmacies for medication refills. It is the patient's responsibility to contact us directly if refills are needed.

When You Visit

Patients are asked to present their insurance card at each and every visit. Please note that we DO NOT treat motor vehicle accidents of BWC cases.
