About Westerville Pediatric Support Center
Pediatric Evening and Weekend Appointments
As a parent, you want the best for your child, including access to the best possible care for urgent evening and weekend appointments. We are happy to announce that we are now able to offer this care at the COPC Pediatric Support Center. This center is staffed by trusted COPC Pediatricians and will be a great resource to help avoid an expensive, unnecessary and sometimes frightening visit to an emergency room or urgent care with your child.
Patients are scheduled by appointment only. You can make an after-hours appointment at the Pediatric Support Center by calling your COPC pediatrician’s office or you may also call the PSC directly at (614) 891-4705. Having a scheduled appointment will make your wait time shorter than if being seen at an emergency room or urgent care.Â
The physicians from the Pediatric Support Center will also assist COPC pediatricians with newborn care at area hospitals.
Now Offering TeleVisits
In an effort to prevent the spread of disease, we are now offering telemedicine visits instead of in person visits for certain situations. All COPC providers are TeleVisit-enabled and are ready to serve your healthcare needs via TeleVisit. Learn more about TeleVisits.
Do You Offer Flu Shots or Routine Physicals?
No. The after-hours center is not designed for the management of chronic medical conditions, mental health, or behavioral conditions. These types of issues are best handled by your child’s primary care pediatrician.
What Does it Cost?
A visit to this center requires the same co-pay and is billed at the same rate as a regular visit to your COPC pediatrician. This is a great savings when compared to charges you would expect from a visit to other urgent care centers or emergency rooms.
What if my child might have a serious health concern such as a broken bone or needs stitches?
The Pediatric Support Center is not intended for life-threatening emergencies. If you have a life-threatening emergency, call 911 or go directly to Nationwide Children’s Hospital. The doctors at the center will see conditions similar to those we see in our office, such as fever, ear pain, vomiting, diarrhea, sore throat, asthma, rash, and minor injuries. If you are uncertain as to the appropriate place to have your child seen, call the office line for triage advice.
What Insurances Are Accepted?
We accept the same insurances as your pediatric office. You will be asked for your insurance card and photo ID at every visit.
Will you have my child’s health record?
Yes! We believe it is very important for a physician to have all the information they need to best care for your child. We will record each visit in a shared COPC electronic health record, communicate any urgent concerns with your pediatrician, and help make follow-up appointments if required.
