Family Medicine Physician (MD/DO)- COPC - Johnstown, OH

COPC, the largest independent primary care organization in the US is seeking a full-time Family Medicine Physician (MD/DO) to add to this practice at 738 West Coshocton St., Johnstown, OH 43031. This is an established practice with one retiring physician leaving in early 2025.

Responsibilities:

1. This Family Medicine role primarily focuses on providing general health maintenance for patients, preventative care, and treatment for common illnesses, especially in a non-emergency situation.
2. Routine check-ups, health-risk assessments, immunizations, screening tests, provide prescription medication, and personalized guidance on maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
3. Maintain accurate patient health records. COPC uses EPIC EMR.
4. Diagnose and treat various health issues, including chronic illnesses like diabetes and hypertension, as well as minor ailments like the common cold and flu.
5. When patients present conditions that require specific expertise, they refer these patients to appropriate specialists for further examinations and treatments.

Qualifications:

1. Doctor of Medicine, MD/DO.
2. Completion of three-year Family Medicine Residency.
3. Board certification in Family Medicine.
4. Extensive medical knowledge, including understanding various diseases, their diagnoses and appropriate treatments, and preventive healthcare methods.
5. Excellent communication skills. Must be able to clearly explain complex medical conditions and treatments and listen to a patient's concerns with empathy.
6. Effective problem-solving abilities are essential in this role. A physician must be able to analyze a patient's symptoms and medical history, make accurate diagnoses and chart the best course of treatment.
7. The ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain patience while dealing with patients of all ages, backgrounds and temperaments is of utmost importance.
